ROUND #2 – OPS TOP HAT RESULTS

Round #2 Winners
After a week of scoring and dealing with Eskom and load shedding we managed to get enough time in to have a good look.
With the top 4 sides all doing well and completing the mission with limited losses we had to look a few times to decide a winner.
It could have gone any way but in the end we opted to avoid the 4 way tie break and award an extra point to the newcomers Carpe Noctem – for a very balanced performance.
This gives them a one point win over the next three teams. Well done to them.
See below

To help all understand the scorecard some notes:
Total Time on briefing should not exceed 15 minutes.
a. In pre-deployment we are looking to understand the plan and phases as well as plan B and the emergency drills as well as exfiltration plans.
b. In execution we look holistically – did it work – if yes it doesn’t matter and we give full scores – but we deduct for high risk options and own losses.
c. On bonus we look for defining moments as well as early players vs late players as provided for in the scoring that’s why late players got deductions.
This integrated mission type is a true test of team work and overall a very good test for the OC element with co-ordination. It was great to follow:
We tried to get the best of moments ready but the networks I lost my office server with all the power issues and the transfers of all the data was just too much.
When we get these clips uploaded we will share them – there were some great moments.
Look out for the following:
Nr.1 – My personal favourites was the man from UO on the bridge singing God Save the Queen when he expected to be last man standing and the mortars came in.
Nr.2 – Primebeef about the darkness.
Nr.3 – Handcuffing the engineers.
Nr.4 – The medic and his “velocity” wounds.
Going forward we will ask the teams to provide the Submission files – no more than 5Gb and 45min.
This will solve the time constraints as we are now scoring the rounds as they are played on a preset evaluation form.
By doing this we can finish the mission with 48 hrs of last team playing.
We are working on getting the additional Angola map done – Ice is almost finished. It is a true reflection of the terrain and setup. It is wow!!
If done Bridge 14 will be reset and done again – it will present an entire different challenge where the bush is truly neutral.
Well done to all – next round is Ops Scrarecrow.
