OPERATION ZEELIE

SITUATION

The Portuguese Colonies of Angola and Mozambique are wobbly. In the South these are the only two colonial powers that have not yet gained independence. The country is in turmoil.

The Soviets are hoping to get in before the West and Castro and Cuba are happy to pander to Big Brother. This instability has created space for two groupings to set up base and fight for change.

The only counter-weight to this is South Africa. It is a classic cold war condition with the local wars being fought as proxies for the super powers.

TASKING

Intel has been received that Soviet trained Insurgents from the North were sighted South East, just North of the cutline, in order to infiltrate the South.

As the Unit commander you have been assigned a number of objectives to achieve as part of an overall coordinated campaign. Your first objective is to locate and eliminate a group of insurgents that are moving toward the South. This Operation will be conducted under the code name – OPERATION ZEELIE.
